Brief Intro About IRUS

Integrated Rural Upliftment Service (IRUS, Kyam Siphai, Thoubal District, Manipur is a rural based voluntary organization set up with a view to extending commendable services to the backward rural ,asses in the state Manipur, irrespective of caste, creed, sex religion etc. for their upliftment and welfare in all fronts. This organization, which is non-political, non-governmental, non-sectarian, non-profit making body, came into existence in the year 1991, 27th April as a result of the great endeavors of the youths to root out the shortcoming facing to the rural masses and weaker sections of the society in some respect.

Since its inceptions, it has been taking a major role to disseminate knowledge and skills to the rural youths so that they can understand their responsibilities and presentation to the society. The organization also stress the need on enlightening a new horizon to the rural and backward areas for an overall development.

Main Objectives

  • To encourage non formal education as a part of Total Literacy Mission.
  • To take up women and child welfare development programme
  • To make active and mass involvement of youths and women in social welfare and other development activities for social politics & economic development of the state.
  • To provide the skill/vocational training to youths and women in rural/backwards areas for self-employment.
  • To promote education, health care, sanitation, information technology, aged welfare programme in rural/backwards areas.
  • To promote science and technology, art & culture, games & sports, agriculture and horticulture practices in the rural areas.
  • To open counselling centre for educated youths to enable themselves make the choice of their right career.
